1980 Turkish coup d'état
The command structure of the stay-behind forces, as suggested in Field Manual 31-15: Operations Against Irregular Forces. One day before the military coup of 12 September 1980 some 3,000 American troops of the RDF started a maneuver Anvil Express on Turkish soil. At the end of 1981 a Turkish-American Defense Council (Turkish: Türk-Amerikan Savunma Konseyi) was founded.
Defense Minister Ümit Haluk and Richard Perle, then US Assistant Secretary of Defense international security policy of the new Reagan administration, and the deputy Chief of Staff Necdet Öztorun participated in its first meeting on 27 April 1982.
U.S. support of the coup was acknowledged by the CIA's Ankara station chief, Paul Henze. After the government was overthrown, Henze cabled Washington, saying, "our boys in Ankara did it." Henze denied that the US stood behind the coup during a June 2003 interview on CNN Türk's Manşet, but two days later Birand presented an interview with Henze recorded in 1997 in which he basically confirmed Mehmet Ali Birand's story.
The US State Department announced the coup during the night between 11 and 12 September: the military had phoned the US embassy in Ankara to alert them of the coup an hour in advance.
After the coup, State Security Courts were set up, as prescribed in U.S. Army Field Manual 31-15: Operations Against Irregular Forces (translated into Turkish in 1965 as ST 31-15: Ayaklanmaları Bastırma Harekâtı).
Based on incidents such as the aforementioned, a growing number of people are reaching the conclusion that the United States, acting through the "Counter-Guerrilla", directed the coup.

The city is under a suffocating siege and fierce shelling for the third consecutive day using warplanes, artillery, and mortar shells, which cause a huge destruction in the city, at least 50 martyrs (according to the initial count), and hundreds of wounded, including some in a critical condition. Assad’s militias stormed the city today amid intense gunfire and indiscriminate tank shelling, they randomly arrested many young men and detained them in Zamalka square; their fate is still unknown.

Yarmouk camp is now surrounded from all sides and all sides are in tension so these past days was full of horrible accidents and situation. Many people are wounded and injured and others are arrested in the security check points. Palestinian are trying to do there best to help the refugees from the other places but we are ruining out of food and basic needs to cover the needs of the refugees in the families and the schools....so we are calling for all over the world to help in covering these needs.

Lend-Lease: Lifeline for the USSR
American, British and Canadian Lend-Lease made a significant difference in the progress of the Soviet armies against Hitler's armies. However, the USSR tried to keep this information limited and the role of Lend-Lease is generally not well known although it constituted about 15 per cent of the total equipment used by the USSR, particularly almost one-half million American trucks. It was said that the only thing that moved through the mud towards Germany were the Ukrainian T-34 tanks with their wide tracks and the American Studebaker trucks.
The USA supplied the USSR with 6,430 planes, 3,734 tanks, 104 ships and boats, 210,000 autos, 3,000 anti-aircraft guns, 245,000 field telephones, gasoline, aluminum, copper, zinc, steel and five million tons of food. This was enough to feed an army of 12 million every day of the war. Britain supplied 5,800 planes, 4,292 tanks, and 12 minesweepers. Canada supplied 1,188 tanks, 842 armoured cars, nearly one million shells, and 208,000 tons of wheat and flour. The USSR depended on American trucks for its mobility since 427,000 out of 665,000 motor vehicles (trucks and jeeps) at the end of the war were of western origin.
Hitler wanted Ukraine as Germany's Lebensraum (living space). In Hitler's memoirs he made it clear that he believed that the Ukrainian people were sub human and that the 'superior race' of Germany was being help back from greatness because of their ever growing population was restrained by a lack of room and resources. The Ukrainian black soil offered Germany the 'breadbasket of Europe". Furthermore, Hitler wanted to colonize Ukraine with German population.
In order to utilize Ukrainian territory Hitler planned that "the bulk of the population of Ukraine would 'disappear' or serve as slaves to the new German colonists. On December 16, 1942 Hitler ordered that the 'most brutal means be used by the German Army against guerillas in Ukraine." (Gregorovich, 2).
As a result, the Ukrainians suffered for three years under German occupation. The German army swept east across Ukraine going through cities like Lutsk, Zhitomir and Berdichev in the summer of 1941 killing 600,000 Ukrainians. Most of the executions were carried out by shooting the victims but some people were killed by hanging and others in trucks by gas. Hundreds of women would be found tightly squeezed in a truck burned alive thinking they were on their way to a shower while drunken Germans stood by with laughter (Kuznetsov, 377-378).
The terror did not end with Hitler's army but was furthered by the brutality of the Soviet Union. Stalin feared that Ukrainian nationalism and an independent Ukraine would wreck the Soviet Russian Empire. As a victor, Stalin's USSR was able to hide its genocide of Ukrainians.
Stalin was responsible for the starvation of millions of Ukrainians. This lead to one of lives greatest tragedies and ironies: The breadbasket of Europe was left to starve by the hands of the Soviet Union. Furthermore, the Soviet government ordered the execution of all 19,000 Ukrainian political prisoners in western Ukraine.
Many others were sent to Siberia to be put in exile or killed. The exact number is still unclear due to how effectively Stalin was able to hide his actions. There was also an evacuation of millions of personnel to the east, to Russia. Many were highly educated and skilled workers.
Hitler appointed the Nazi philosopher Alfred Rosenberg (1893-1946) head of the Ostministerium (East Ministry) in charge of administering the territory of Ukraine. Before the war Rosenberg was pro-Ukrainian and anti-Muscovite (Russian). He planned to establish a Greater Ukraine state taking territory from Western Russia. However, Hitler had a different idea. He thought Ukrainians should get no preferential treatment and personally appointed Erich Koch to rule Reichskommissariat Ukraine (eastern Ukraine) with an iron fist.
Koch, as a member of the superior German Herrenvolk master race, started a reign of terror and oppression in Ukraine. Koch often said that the Ukrainian people were inferior to the Germans, that Ukrainians were half-monkeys, and that Ukrainians "must be handled with the whip like the negroes."

Whatever their orientation may be, when we met them we tried to brief them of the true situation. We tried to convince them that development doesn’t mean the A9 Highway, said a member of the Chamber.
The UK team of 8 Conservative parliamentarians and one DUP member from North Ireland, led by James Wharton, Conservative MP for Stockton South, met Rajapaksa at his Kandy residence before visiting Jaffna, Ki’linochchi, the East and other parts of the island.
They also met the Rajapaksa associates, GL Peiris, Lalith Weeratunga, Kekeliya Rambukwla, Sarath Amunugama, Aluthgamage and J.B. Dissanayake.
The following were the members visited Jaffna:
James Wharton (Conservative, Stockton South), Mark Menzies (Conservative, Fylde), Andrew Stephenson (Conservative, Pendle), Aiden Burley (Conservative, Connock Chase), Conor Burns (Conservative, Bournemouth West), David Morris (Conservative, Morecambe and Lunesdale), Bob Blackman (Conservative, Harrow East), Nicola Blackman and Ian Paisley (Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland, North Antrim).
Unconfirmed reports said that the team arriving in Jaffna by an SL Air Force flight met officials of the occupying Sinhala Army at Palaali.
Later, reaching the Jaffna Central College grounds by SL military helicopter, they were made to wait inside the helicopter for half an hour, as there was no one to receive them due to clumsy arrangements. Mr. Sundaram Arumainayakam, SL Government Agent In Jaffna who rushed to the scene received them and made arrangements for their transportation.
The team went to see the unfinished housing scheme at Ariyaalai, which was started by New Delhi and was left in an ugly state. It was there the team told media not to expect outside solutions but to find internal ones.
The UK government, tagged behind the US, is engaged in a number of situations across the world in finding international solutions ranging from diplomatic positioning to the extent of directly waging war.
In the last more than 60 years since it handed over power to a Sinhala state in the island, the UK has neither acknowledged the genocide taking place in the island nor stood for solutions appropriate to chronic national questions.
After abetting the genocidal war, the UK government was actively involved in a ‘rehabilitation’ programme that left the former liberation fighters of Eezham Tamils to undergo all kinds of humiliation in the hands of the occupying Sinhala military.

Unconfirmed reports said that the team arriving in Jaffna by an SL Air Force flight met officials of the occupying Sinhala Army at Palaali.
Later, reaching the Jaffna Central College grounds by SL military helicopter, they were made to wait inside the helicopter for half an hour, as there was no one to receive them due to clumsy arrangements. Mr. Sundaram Arumainayakam, SL Government Agent In Jaffna who rushed to the scene received them and made arrangements for their transportation.
The team went to see the unfinished housing scheme at Ariyaalai, which was started by New Delhi and was left in an ugly state. It was there the team told media not to expect outside solutions but to find internal ones.
The UK government, tagged behind the US, is engaged in a number of situations across the world in finding international solutions ranging from diplomatic positioning to the extent of directly waging war.

TamilNet, 29 August 2012- The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday reiterated her demand to immediately halt training to Sri Lanka’s defence personnel at the Wellington base in Tamil Nadu and send them back to Sri Lanka.
She expressed surprise about her earlier demand being responded with an open declaration by New Delhi to continue training to Sri Lanka’s military personnel in India, on grounds that Sri Lanka is a friendly country. “This betrays the total insensitivity on the part of the Government of India towards the views of my Government as well as the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu,” she said in an official letter addressed to the Indian Prime Minister, adding that the Government of India should give up “condemnable attitude.”
In a press statement on Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President, Mr B. S. Gnanadesikan defended India giving training to military personnel of other countries in its bases, on grounds of international and SAARC agreements.
He didn’t mention a crucial point that beyond international practices and SAARC agreements, Sri Lanka’s genocidal military has a special ‘military to military’ relationship with the Indian military to get such training.
Mr. Gnanadesikan also claimed that it was by the efforts of the TNCC on an earlier occasion, the Indian Defence Minister Mr. A K Antony transferred 9 SL military personnel getting training in Tamil Nadu to other states.
According to Indian constitution, residential status comes under the purview of the states.
Entry of a foreigner into the country is regulated by the Centre and its foreign missions. But once a foreigner entered into India, the residence is regulated by the state.
When a state objects to the presence of a foreigner, the GOI is normally obliged to send that person out of the country. Even when the GOI on its own wants to send a foreigner out, the Centre doesn’t convey the order directly to the concerned person. It is conveyed through the state where the foreigner resides.
Perhaps this is the first time the Government of India has seriously put itself at loggerheads with a state, in matters related to its military’s foreign interests and residence of foreign personnel.
Once again the establishment in New Delhi has chosen Tamils to test the case, as it tested the model of genocide with Eezham Tamils for its imperial inroads.

US Law allowing legal challenge to LTTE terror listing remains vacuous
[TamilNet, Thursday, 2 August 2012, 8 USC § 1189(c)(1), which appears to provide an avenue to challenge any designation of a Foreign Terrorist Organization[FTO] states: "Not later than 30 days after publication in the Federal Register of a designation, an amended designation, or a determination in response to a petition for revocation, the designated organization may seek judicial review in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit."
However, interpreting "material support" provision in the statute 2339b, the US Supreme Court, in Holder v. Humanitarian Law project (2010), ruled that "material support," includes peaceful advocacy and peacemaking assistance given to an FTO, and therefore, illegal under 2339b.
Therefore, there is no remedy, legal sources said. Threat of prosecution under the material support statutes render any legal avenue to challenge the ban as form without substance.
"For the United States, continuing the ban on the LTTE appears necessary for the ongoing material support prosecutions and extradition requests. Or else, LTTE deproscription would amount to an intervening change in controlling law which would allow appeal of any outcome determinations which flowed from the ban. Recent extradition request of a Australian resident is a case in point," Tamils Against Genocide [TAG], a US-based activist group, said.
"If the LTTE is de-proscribed, this act will have less to do with whether the LTTE exists in fact, and more to do with whether the Justice Department’s silent timetable to prosecute and extradite Tamils with alleged prior affiliation with the organization is complete," TAG added.
The State Department continues the LTTE ban post-Mu’l'livaaykkaal in such a legal context, with no LTTE military wing and no threat of domestic legal challenge. It does so within a foreign policy agenda, architected by current Asst. Secretary of State for South Asia, Robert Blake, that tepidly pressures Sri Lanka for soft accountability without retributive justice for the Tamil killing field at Mu’l'livaaykkaal, while openly supporting armed liberation movements in Syria and Libya, Tamil circles said.

Luxembourg donated Euro 421,825.00 in 2010 and Euro 41,991 in 2011 for humanitarian projects in Sri Lanka. Luxembourg has continued to provide assistance to Sri Lanka, mainly for humanitarian purposes. Luxembourg donated Euro 421,825.00 in 2010 and Euro 41,991 in 2011 for humanitarian projects in Sri Lanka. Mr. Asselborn said Sri Lanka has made significant progress since the conflict ended, and in general has shown an impressive performance in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), particularly in the area of poverty reduction.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU Ravinatha Aryasinha has called on the EU to further engage in Sri Lanka’s development process, saying it will serve as an important confidence building measure in strengthening EU-Sri Lanka relations.

Travelgate: The Clintons fired seven white house travel office employees in favor of hire cousins and friends. The employees were lifelong employees in good standing. After stating no other reason for the firings than the employees were viewed as disloyal to the administration, officials began to question the White House. Soon after the firings were questioned, the White House allegedly used the FBI to investigate the employees then attempted to ruin the worker's reputation by making the fact of an FBI investigation public.
Travel employees ended up spending their life savings defending themselves in court against the false charges. Further investigation revealed that former travel office chief Billy Dale's FBI file was among the nine hundred plus requested files of Filegate.
Filegate: Involves the discovery of over 900 Republican FBI files in the White House. Files of former Secretary of State James Baker, former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft, and Newt Gingrich's spokesman Tony Blankley were found to be on this list. Upon the discovery of these files, the White House issued an excuse claiming that the files were mistakenly requested by a White House employee working with an outdated list. Investigations into Filegate revealed that not a common White House worker but the President's friend and close advisor, Anthony Marceca, had requested the files.
Chinagate: Attempts were made by China to funnel money to the Clinton campaign and influence elections in 1996. Charlie Trie, one of Bills trusted DNC fundraisers, attempted to funnel this money. When faced with indictment he fled to China for refuge.
Another money funneler for the Clinton campaign, Johnny Chung, is now in jail. The funds came from divisions of the Chinese army, one of which had been caught only months earlier while attempting to smuggle AK-47's to LA street gangs.
Another DNC fundraiser scandal, Johnny Chung, openly admitted to knowingly taking funds from the Chinese government. Chung also testified that the DNC knew the source of this money was China. The money is said to have been funneled through Chinese government official Liu Chao-ying then Chung and then to the DNC.
Liu Chao-ying, daughter of Liu Hauqing (recent head of the Chinese military and top official of the Chinese communist party) and a Peoples Liberation Army and Chinese space agency official, attended a DNC fundraiser. Here she was photographed with Clinton. Chung also visited the White House over 45 times. Chung was a campaign contributor/supporter with ties to the DNC and White House. Johnny Chung testified under oath to Congress on his admitted relations with the Chinese and the ties to the President.

The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves. This is a war of conquest.
Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.
British Gas (BG Group) and its partner, the Athens based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) owned by Lebanon’s Sabbagh and Koury families, were granted oil and gas exploration rights in a 25 year agreement signed in November 1999 with the Palestinian Authority.
The rights to the offshore gas field are respectively British Gas (60 percent); Consolidated Contractors (CCC) (30 percent); and the Investment Fund of the Palestinian Authority (10 percent). (Haaretz, October 21, 2007).
The PA-BG-CCC agreement includes field development and the construction of a gas pipeline.(Middle East Economic Digest, Jan 5, 2001). The BG licence covers the entire Gazan offshore marine area, which is contiguous to several Israeli offshore gas facilities.
It should be noted that 60 percent of the gas reserves along the Gaza-Israel coastline belong to Palestine.
The BG Group drilled two wells in 2000: Gaza Marine-1 and Gaza Marine-2. Reserves are estimated by British Gas to be of the order of 1.4 trillion cubic feet, valued at approximately 4 billion dollars. These are the figures made public by British Gas. The size of Palestine’s gas reserves could be much larger.
The issue of sovereignty over Gaza’s gas fields is crucial. From a legal standpoint, the gas reserves belong to Palestine. The death of Yasser Arafat, the election of the Hamas government and the ruin of the Palestinian Authority have enabled Israel to establish de facto control over Gaza’s offshore gas reserves.
British Gas (BG Group) has been dealing with the Tel Aviv government. In turn, the Hamas government has been bypassed in regards to exploration and development rights over the gas fields.
The election of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in 2001 was a major turning point. Palestine’s sovereignty over the offshore gas fields was challenged in the Israeli Supreme Court. Sharon stated unequivocally that “Israel would never buy gas from Palestine” intimating that Gaza’s offshore gas reserves belong to Israel.
In 2003, Ariel Sharon, vetoed an initial deal, which would allow British Gas to supply Israel with natural gas from Gaza’s offshore wells. (The Independent, August 19, 2003)
The election victory of Hamas in 2006 was conducive to the demise of the Palestinian Authority, which became confined to the West Bank, under the proxy regime of Mahmoud Abbas.
In 2006, British Gas “was close to signing a deal to pump the gas to Egypt.” (Times, May, 23, 2007). According to reports, British Prime Minister Tony Blair intervened on behalf of Israel with a view to shunting the agreement with Egypt.
The following year, in May 2007, the Israeli Cabinet approved a proposal by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert “to buy gas from the Palestinian Authority.” The proposed contract was for $4 billion, with profits of the order of $2 billion of which one billion was to go the Palestinians.
Tel Aviv, however, had no intention on sharing the revenues with Palestine. An Israeli team of negotiators was set up by the Israeli Cabinet to thrash out a deal with the BG Group, bypassing both the Hamas government and the Palestinian Authority:
“Israeli defence authorities want the Palestinians to be paid in goods and services and insist that no money go to the Hamas-controlled Government.” The objective was essentially to nullify the contract signed in 1999 between the BG Group and the Palestinian Authority under Yasser Arafat.
Under the proposed 2007 agreement with BG, Palestinian gas from Gaza’s offshore wells was to be channeled by an undersea pipeline to the Israeli seaport of Ashkelon, thereby transferring control over the sale of the natural gas to Israel. The deal fell through. The negotiations were suspended: “Mossad Chief Meir Dagan opposed the transaction on security grounds, that the proceeds would fund terror”.

Israel’s intent was to foreclose the possibility that royalties be paid to the Palestinians. In December 2007, The BG Group withdrew from the negotiations with Israel and in January 2008 they closed their office in Israel.(BG website).
The invasion plan of the Gaza Strip under “Operation Cast Lead” was set in motion in June 2008, according to Israeli military sources: “Sources in the defense establishment said Defense Minister Ehud Barak instructed the Israel Defense Forces to prepare for the operation over six months ago [June or before June] , even as Israel was beginning to negotiate a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.”(Barak Ravid, Operation “Cast Lead”: Israeli Air Force strike followed months of planning, Haaretz, December 27, 2008)
That very same month, the Israeli authorities contacted British Gas, with a view to resuming crucial negotiations pertaining to the purchase of Gaza’s natural gas:
“Both Ministry of Finance director general Yarom Ariav and Ministry of National Infrastructures director general Hezi Kugler agreed to inform BG of Israel’s wish to renew the talks. The sources added that BG has not yet officially responded to Israel’s request, but that company executives would probably come to Israel in a few weeks to hold talks with government officials.” (Globes online- Israel’s Business Arena, June 23, 2008)
The decision to speed up negotiations with British Gas (BG Group) coincided, chronologically, with the planning of the invasion of Gaza initiated in June. It would appear that Israel was anxious to reach an agreement with the BG Group prior to the invasion, which was already in an advanced planning stage.
Moreover, these negotiations with British Gas were conducted by the Ehud Olmert government with the knowledge that a military invasion was on the drawing board. In all likelihood, a new “post war” political-territorial arrangement for the Gaza strip was also being contemplated by the Israeli government.
In fact, negotiations between British Gas and Israeli officials were ongoing in October 2008, 2-3 months prior to the commencement of the bombings on December 27th.
In November 2008, the Israeli Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Infrastructures instructed Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) to enter into negotiations with British Gas, on the purchase of natural gas from the BG’s offshore concession in Gaza. (Globes, November 13, 2008)
Ministry of Finance director general Yarom Ariav and Ministry of National Infrastructures director general Hezi Kugler wrote to IEC CEO Amos Lasker recently, informing him of the government’s decision to allow negotiations to go forward, in line with the framework proposal it approved earlier this year.
The IEC board, headed by chairman Moti Friedman, approved the principles of the framework proposal a few weeks ago. "The talks with BG Group will begin once the board approves the exemption from a tender." (Globes Nov. 13, 2008)
The military occupation of Gaza is intent upon transferring the sovereignty of the gas fields to Israel in violation of international law.
What is the intent of Israel with regard to Palestine’s Natural Gas reserves?
A new territorial arrangement, with the stationing of Israeli and/or “peacekeeping” troops?
The militarization of the entire Gaza coastline, which is strategic for Israel?
The outright confiscation of Palestinian gas fields and the unilateral declaration of Israeli sovereignty over Gaza’s maritime areas?
If this were to occur, the Gaza gas fields would be integrated into Israel’s offshore installations, which are contiguous to those of the Gaza Strip.
These various offshore installations are also linked up to Israel’s energy transport corridor, extending from the port of Eilat, which is an oil pipeline terminal, on the Red Sea to the seaport - pipeline terminal at Ashkelon, and northwards to Haifa, and eventually linking up through a proposed Israeli-Turkish pipeline with the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

The decision to speed up negotiations with British Gas (BG Group) coincided, chronologically, with the planning of the invasion of Gaza initiated in June. It would appear that Israel was anxious to reach an agreement with the BG Group prior to the invasion, which was already in an advanced planning stage.
Moreover, these negotiations with British Gas were conducted by the Ehud Olmert government with the knowledge that a military invasion was on the drawing board. In all likelihood, a new “post war” political-territorial arrangement for the Gaza strip was also being contemplated by the Israeli government.
In fact, negotiations between British Gas and Israeli officials were ongoing in October 2008, 2-3 months prior to the commencement of the bombings on December 27th.
In November 2008, the Israeli Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Infrastructures instructed Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) to enter into negotiations with British Gas, on the purchase of natural gas from the BG’s offshore concession in Gaza. (Globes, November 13, 2008)
Ministry of Finance director general Yarom Ariav and Ministry of National Infrastructures director general Hezi Kugler wrote to IEC CEO Amos Lasker recently, informing him of the government’s decision to allow negotiations to go forward, in line with the framework proposal it approved earlier this year.
The IEC board, headed by chairman Moti Friedman, approved the principles of the framework proposal a few weeks ago. "The talks with BG Group will begin once the board approves the exemption from a tender." (Globes Nov. 13, 2008)

28/08/2012, GAZA CITY (Reuters) -- Gaza will no longer be "liveable" by 2020 unless urgent action is taken to improve water supply, power, health, and schooling, the United Nations' most comprehensive report on the Palestinian enclave said on Monday.
"Action needs to be taken now if Gaza is to be a liveable place in 2020 and it is already difficult now," UN humanitarian coordinator Maxwell Gaylard told journalists when the report was released on Monday.
Five years into an Israeli blockade supported by Egypt, and living under one-party rule, Gaza's population of 1.6 million is set to rise by 500,000 over the next eight years, say the authors of the UN's most wide-ranging report on the territory. Gaza has one the youngest populations in the world, with 51 percent of people under the age of 18.
"Action needs to be taken right now on fundamental aspects of life: water sanitation, electricity, education, health and other aspects," Gaylard said.
Israel partly eased restrictions in mid-2010, and Gaza's crippled economy began to revive from rock bottom. Real GDP is estimated to have risen by 28 percent in the first half of 2011 as unemployment fell to 28 percent in 2011 from 37 percent.
But the report, involving expertise from more UN agencies and making projections further into the future than before, said growth over the next eight years would be slow, since Gaza's current isolation renders its economy essentially non-viable.
Robert Turner, director of operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency: "Despite their best efforts the Palestinians in Gaza still need help," he said. "They are under blockade. They are under occupation and they need our help both politically and practically on the ground."
A lack of clean drinking water is the greatest immediate concern, said Jean Gough of the UNICEF. The report projects a 60 percent increase in the enclave's water needs, while urgent action is already needed to protect existing water resources.
By 2016, Gaza's aquifer may become unusable, she said. Palestinians are already drilling deeper and deeper to reach groundwater and there is a need for more desalination plants. A seawater plant costing about $350 million is planned.
The UN says only a quarter of Gaza waste water is treated. The rest, including raw sewage, goes into the Mediterranean Sea.
Gaylard said Gaza needs peace and security to improve the lives of its people. "It will certainly have to mean the end of blockade, the end of isolation and the end of conflict."

GAZA, August 27, 2012 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) held the Israeli government fully responsible for the difficult human living conditions in the Gaza Strip, in a press release released by the agency on Monday.
UNRWA held a conference titled “Will the Gaza Strip be Viable in 2020?,” with the presence of the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator, Maxwell Gaylard, Director of UNRWA operations in Gaza Robert Turner, and UNICEF Special Representative in the Palestinian Territory, Jean Gough.
The press conference warned that the Gaza Strip will face a real disaster on all levels in 2020 if the Israeli siege on the Strip and the Israeli occupation were not immediately ended. In addition to immediately intervene to save the various service sectors from the impending collapse.
An increase in Gaza population is expected, reaching 2.1 million in 2020, said Gaylard, adding that the population growth will be accompanied by a slow economic growth resulting in difficult living conditions in the Strip. UNRWA reported that the population average in Gaza will reach 5800 person per kilometer, a precedent world-wide record.
Gaylard stressed that the Gaza Strip can’t develop without connecting to the outside world and establishing trade and communication connections beyond the Israeli siege.

An official at Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute claimed that internal organs of dead guerrillas are sold to some certain hospitals on the basis of a ‘confidential’ document presented by the Ministry of Health.
The Institute official, asking to be mentioned unnamed, said in an interview to Lekolin website that the organs of dead guerrillas, who are held at institutes on grounds of DNA test after urgently being taken there from clashes area, are mainly sold to GATA (Gülhane Military Medical Academy’s Hospital) as well as some other military and civil hospitals determined by the Ministry of Health.
Bodies of dead guerrillas are mainly taken to the medicine institutes in Malatya, Adana, Ankara, İstanbul and Trabzon.
The official said that the practice is grounded on a ‘confidential’ document which was earlier conveyed to the each of governor’s offices, regional commands and local health authorities.
According to this document, the official claims, it is asked that the bodies of dead guerrillas with uninjured organs should urgently be taken to nearest health institutions within 24 hours after the death to not to allow the deterioration of physical chemistry.
According to the source, the places of the removed organs are filled with cotton before the bodies of guerrillas are delivered to families after a so-called DNA test and autopsy.
The official further says that the bodies of dead guerrillas are also used as cadaver at some medical faculties in Turkey and Kurdistan.
He notes that the bodies used at these faculties are later buried in cemeteries of the nameless or town cemeteries outside the knowledge of their families so that the bodies become deformed there.

Kurds in Turkey and North Kurdistan will also take to the streets on 1 September, International Peace Day, to once again voice their demand for the freedom for Öcalan, peace and democratic autonomy.
The Initiative has so far put its signature under remarkable protest actions around Europe including the fifteen-day Long March from Geneva to Strasbourg last winter, which was followed by the 52-days irreversible hunger strike in Strasbourg in April and the alternate vigil action in front of the European Council building in Strasbourg since 25 July.
The statement by the Initiative voiced strong objection to the severe isolation on Kurdish leader Öcalan and remarked that the European Council and the Committee for the Prevention of Torture have so far failed to fulfill their duty in respect to Imralı isolation.
The Initiative criticized both institutions for turning a blind eye to Turkish state’s anti-Kurd policies and ended calling on all Kurdish people and their friends in Europe to ensure active and broad participation in the meeting for freedom for Öcalan.

South Korea, Turkey, Israel, US, China, etc signs free trade agreements, while "promoting democracy in the private Enterprise"
26 August 2012, Freedom March for Ocalan. All shops have been closed in Kızıltepe, in the province of Mardin for the “We greet the Freedom March” rally which has been organized by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) to voice Kurdish people’s demands for a democratic solution to the Kurdish question and freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.
Turkish police has taken intense security measures before the rally as all the ways in the district have been blockaded with armored vehicles and seven TOMA vehicles have been placed around the meeting area. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Ahmet Türk, DTK Coordination Council members and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputies Özdal Üçer and Halil Aksoy are also expected to join the rally in Kızıltepe.
The rally will also take place in Cizre in the province of Şırnak where people have closed all shops to support the meeting. People in Şırnak and its districts will be gathering in Cizre in the following hours.
Police attack Freedom March in Cizre and Yüksekova
Turkish police attacked the people joining the “We greet the Freedom March” rally in Cizre in the province of Şırnak on Sunday. The march has been organized by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) to voice Kurdish people’s demands for a democratic solution to the Kurdish question and freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.
Demonstrators responded to police with stones and pushed the police out of the meeting area. Clashes between demonstrators and police teams continue in the district where special operation police units have been deployed in all neighborhoods.
Thousands of people joined the freedom march in Yüksekova district in the province of Hakkari under the slogan “We greet the Freedom March” as a support message to southwest Kurdistan.
Clashes broke out between demonstrators and police as young people started a march after the rally. Demonstrators set up barricades on the main Cengiz Topel Street. Police used gas bombs and pressure water against demonstrators who responded the attack with stones.
Clashes at the scene are reported to be continuing.

Damascus Suburbs: Daraya: A new massacre was discovered in the city, where a large number of killed were found at the road of the western farms of Daraya. 22 martyrs of them were identified, while the numbers are rising.

Turkish police has taken intense security measures before the rally as all the ways in the district have been blockaded with armored vehicles and seven TOMA vehicles have been placed around the meeting area. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Ahmet Türk, DTK Coordination Council members and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputies Özdal Üçer and Halil Aksoy are also expected to join the rally in Kızıltepe.
The rally will also take place in Cizre in the province of Şırnak where people have closed all shops to support the meeting. People in Şırnak and its districts will be gathering in Cizre in the following hours.
Police attack Freedom March in Cizre and Yüksekova
Turkish police attacked the people joining the “We greet the Freedom March” rally in Cizre in the province of Şırnak on Sunday. The march has been organized by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) to voice Kurdish people’s demands for a democratic solution to the Kurdish question and freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.
Demonstrators responded to police with stones and pushed the police out of the meeting area. Clashes between demonstrators and police teams continue in the district where special operation police units have been deployed in all neighborhoods.
Thousands of people joined the freedom march in Yüksekova district in the province of Hakkari under the slogan “We greet the Freedom March” as a support message to southwest Kurdistan.
Clashes broke out between demonstrators and police as young people started a march after the rally. Demonstrators set up barricades on the main Cengiz Topel Street. Police used gas bombs and pressure water against demonstrators who responded the attack with stones.
Clashes at the scene are reported to be continuing.
